Texas Secession

Not everyone who lives in Texas is crazy. We are not all crazy, raving, lunatics. You wouldn't know it from listening to the radio and watching TV. There really are some normal, rational, thinking people who live in Texas.

And we wish that Governor Rick Perry would shut up about Texas secession. Seriously.

I don't know where all this talk comes from and I don't understand it. But I've heard enough.

It's bad enough we have so many people in this state pushing to teach religion in the schools and that our education system is one of the worst in the country. It's bad enough that we're already considered pretty backwards down here by the rest of the country. And it's bad enough that one of the worst, if not the worst, POTUS calls Texas home. And now, to have our governor talking about secession as he panders to his base is just insanity.

Seriously, I wish someone would tell the man to shut the fuck up. I'm tired of hearing it. We are part of the USA and I kinda like that.

Another thing I don't understand... most Texans I know are proud and patriotic -- God and country, of the wrap-yourself-in-the-flag, America love it or leave it variety. Why would they even listen to this kind of talk? It makes no sense to me, not one little bit.

I think this country has completely lost its mind.

Peace,
Amy
